Science - The Eighth Pillar

An intriguing article in The Unz Review by Robert Bonomo identifies the “seven pillars” of society that create “homo domesticus”.

The methodology for creating this exceptionally loyal and obedient modern breed, homo domesticus, can be described as having seven pillars from which an immense matrix captures the talking simians and their conscious minds and hooks them into a complex mesh from which few ever escape. The system is so advanced that those who do untangle themselves and cut their way out of the net are immediately branded as mentally ill, anti-social, or simply losers who can’t accept the ‘complexity of modern life’, i.e. conspiracy nuts.

One of those “seven pillars” is education.

Education
There are things we are born able to do like eating, laughing and crying and others we pick up without much of an effort such as walking, speaking and fighting, but without strict institutional education there is no way that we can ever become a functioning member of the Matrix. We must be indoctrinated, sent to Matrix boot camp, which of course is school. How else could you take a hunter and turn him into a corporate slave, submissive to clocks, countless bosses, monotony and uniformity?

Children naturally know who they are, they have no existential angst, but schools immediately begin driving home the point of schedules, rules, lists and grades which inevitably lead the students to the concept of who they aren’t. We drill the little ones until they learn to count money, tell time, measure progress, stand in line, keep silent and endure submission. They learn they aren’t free and they are separated from everyone else and the world itself by a myriad of divides, names and languages.

It can’t be stressed enough how much education is simply inculcating people with the clock and the idea of a forced identity. What child when she first goes to school isn’t taken back to hear herself referred to by her full name?

It’s not as if language itself isn’t sufficiently abstract- nothing must be left without a category. Suzy can’t just be Suzy- she is a citizen of a country and a state, a member of a religion and a product of a civilization, many of which have flags, mascots, armies, uniforms, currencies and languages. Once all the mascots, tag lines and corporate creeds are learned, then history can begin to be taught. The great epic myths invented and conveniently woven into the archetypes which have come down through the ages cement this matrix into the child’s mind.

Even the language that she speaks without effort must be deconstructed for her. An apple will never again be just an apple- it will become a noun, a subject, or an object. Nothing will be left untouched, all must be ripped apart and explained back to the child in Matrixese.

We are taught almost nothing useful during the twelve or so years that we are institutionalized and conditioned for slavery- not how to cook, farm, hunt, build, gather, laugh or play. We are only taught how to live by a clock and conform to institutionalized behaviors that make for solid careers as slaveocrats.

However, a critical reviewer of Robert Bonomo’s “seven pillars” may be forgiven for thinking that Science has become the Eighth Pillar used to create “homo domesticus”.

The classic example of Science being used as the Eighth Pillar is demonstrated by the deployment of Global Warming by the other “seven pillars”.

Culture

Global warming is bad news for winter sports.
But that’s not the only way climate change will mean culture change, too.

The meltdown of Arctic sea ice may end traditional hunting and fishing for Arctic peoples. Ocean acidification’s impact on coral reefs may eliminate symbolic species, like Melanesia’s “place spirits” within dolphins, sharks and rays.

Money

Governments around the world, at the behest of the U.N., spend vast amounts of money on a problem which only exists in computer models.
Climate change research has become big business; driven by political ideology and greed, instead of a quest for truth. There are reams of real-world data available which effortlessly debunk the myth of climate change.
However; if it is ever mentioned publicly, the data is laughed off as conspiracy theory “denial,” obviously being spread by agents of Big Energy.

Circus

And so the great global warming circus moves on.
For the next two weeks the world’s carboncrats will gather in Cancun for the latest United Nations climate conference. The aim is to negotiate a vast new international emissions trading scheme that Barack Obama wants the United States to join.

Religion

Archbishop Desmond Tutu has called for an anti-apartheid-style boycott and disinvestment campaign against the fossil fuel industry for driving global warming, just days ahead of a landmark UN report on how carbon emissions can be slashed.

Lindzen compares global warming to past politicized scientific movements: the eugenics movement in the early 20th Century and Lysenkoism in the Soviet Union under Stalin. However, the MIT professor argues that global warming goes even beyond what these past movements in terms of twisting science.

Global Warming has become a religion,” writes Lindzen. “A surprisingly large number of people seem to have concluded that all that gives meaning to their lives is the belief that they are saving the planet by paying attention to their carbon footprint.”

Patriotism

Bill Nye ‘The Science Guy’ appeared Wednesday on MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show and leveled some serious accusations against global warming skeptics.

Nye said that not adhering to a belief in anthropomorphic global warming constitutes unpatriotic behaviour and also that skepticism of global warming claims is equivalent to “denying science.”

Government

President Obama issued an executive order Friday directing a government-wide effort to boost preparation in states and local communities for the impact of global warming.

The action orders federal agencies to work with states to build “resilience” against major storms and other weather extremes. For example, the president’s order directs that infrastructure projects like bridges and flood control take into consideration climate conditions of the future, which might require building structures larger or stronger — and likely at a higher price tag.

During the State of the Union, President Barack Obama stated that global warming is a “fact” and that the science was settled. But Obama’s remarks ignore the fact that global temperatures have not significantly risen in 17 years.

“The shift to a cleaner energy economy won’t happen overnight, and it will require tough choices along the way,” Obama said. “But the debate is settled. Climate change is a fact. And when our children’s children look us in the eye and ask if we did all we could to leave them a safer, more stable world with new sources of energy, I want us to be able to say, ‘Yes, we did.’”

An appreciation of the Eighth Pillar can be obtained by reviewing the GCSE science examinations sat by sixteen years olds in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The National Curriculum was introduced into England, Wales and Northern Ireland as a nationwide curriculum for primary and secondary state schools following the Education Reform Act 1988.

Notwithstanding its name, it does not apply to independent schools, which may set their own curricula, but it ensures that state schools of all Local Education Authorities have a common curriculum.

Whilst the British state broadcaster simply instructs GCSE students that the burning of fossils fuels is directly “contributing to global warming”.

Today, the burning of fossil fuels (coal and oil) is adding carbon dioxide to the atmosphere faster than it can be removed.

This means that the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is increasing, contributing to global warming.

It also means that the oceans are becoming more acidic as they dissolve increasing amounts of carbon dioxide.

This has an impact on the marine environment, for example making the shells of sea creatures thinner than normal.

Sadly, the cult of Global Warming continues to be firmly promoted by the Eighth Pillar whilst this pillar of scientific wisdom turns to dust.

The Period Of No Global Warming Will Soon Be Longer Than the Period of Actual Global Warming

If you look at the record of global temperature data, you will find that the late 20th Century period of global warming actually lasted about 20 years, from the late 1970s to the late 1990s. Before that, the globe was dominated by about 30 years of global cooling, giving rise in the 1970s to media discussions of the return of the Little Ice Age (circa 1450 to 1850), or worse.

But the record of satellite measurements of global atmospheric temperatures now shows no warming for at least 17 years and 5 months, from September, 1996 to January, 2014, as shown on the accompanying graphic. That is surely 17 years and 6 months now, accounting for February.

    “Science” seems to fill a position of authority similar to the Christian church in earlier times, with scientists as priests, who alone have access to the higher or deeper mysteries. They are often believed simply because of their authority as “Scientist”. Science now claims to have the best and only correct explanations for the origin of life and of the universe and in this respect has replaced the Bible in the minds of many, even many Christians. Those who disagree with these Naturalist explanations are accused of not being “real scientists”, exemplifying the sort of enforced orthodoxy now found in institutional “Science”.

    With this kind of authority, it is not surprising then that “Science” was recruited by politicians to support their social engineering programs, in this case by massively funding research on MAN CAUSED global warming. You get what you pay for. The genesis of this crusade goes back at least to 1992 and the UNCED conference headed by Canada’s Maurice Strong. The initial force was political, specifically globalist, with science only recruited as a star witness. The star witness has now been excused from the stand, since “the Science Is Settled”. Thank you, Science, no further questions. What is actually settled is the political agenda, regardless of actual temperature measurements.

    Lots of similarities… with new forms of “tithe” being demanded to save us from being roasted by Global Warming… and non-believers being labelled “deniers”… seems like Science is being used as the new “Opiate of the People”.

      It has the handy property of being too complex and involved for the average person to be able to get to grips with and make their own judgement. (Furthermore, those who are the movers and have the political interest in a certain outcome often don’t understand it either – but they don’t need to really.)

      Unlike Christianity, where (once people could read and get access to books) it was reasonably possible for those who were daring to come to their own conclusions, even if it wasn’t then possible to escape the system afterwards.

    You can even purchase “carbon offsets”, a sort of modern indulgence, to expiate your sins of carbon emission.

  4. This Depression has at least, created houses and many useful and also useless goods. The slaves even have their choice of soma drugs. Creating massive populations was valid for warfare, but now we can do too much damage. The ruling elites think alike. Western wages are static but the less developed are gaining.

    This is the age of Communism, sister! The 1st World is being colonised. Do you like it, yet? Get digging…..
