Kepler's 160 Minute Solar Cycle

Observational scientists first noticed a 160-minute [2.67 hour] solar oscillation in the 1970s.

The 160-minute solar cycle was an apparent periodic oscillation in the solar surface which was observed in a number of early sets of data collected for helioseismology.

The birth of helioseismology occurred in 1976 with the publications of papers from Brookes, Isaak and van der Raay and Severny, Kotov and Tsap, both of which reported upon the observation of a 160-minute solar oscillation with an amplitude of approximately two metres per second.

Some observers thought these oscillations weren’t “consistent in either period, amplitude or phase.”

Using a resonant scattering spectrometer, observations of integral solar light have been recorded and analyzed to determine the existence of solar oscillations.

Although the data from individual days do confirm the existence of long-period oscillations, these do not seem to be consistent in either period, amplitude or phase.

Possible interpretation and further experimental verifications are considered.

However, the 160 minute [circa 2.65 hour] oscillations continued to be reported and were further underlined by “evidence for the existence of a 2.65-hr oscillation in the Earth’s magnetic field.

While investigating intensity variations of spectrum-lines of solar origin, periods which seem to describe the Sun’s oscillation have been found.

The observed period of 2.65 h is very close to 2.78 h, the predicted radial mode fundamental oscillation of the homogeneous model of the Sun.

Thus some observations of the solar disk seem to confirm the existence of a radial mode pulsation, while others give no significant indication of such a period.

External effects may not, however, have been filtered satisfactorily in all cases.

Thus we tried to find an effect of magnetospheric origin that can be related in some way to the described observations.

We report here observations of pulsations with period of 2 h 40 min.

The existence of a 160 minute solar oscillation was again confirmed [restated] in 1980 and 1990.

Observations made at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory and the Stanford Solar Observatory during 1979 provide evidence of the existence of oscillations of the sun with a period near 160 minutes.

The new observations showed the same period with a phase of maximum expansion as predicted from earlier data; for 1979 the time of maximum expansion of the center of the solar disk was found to be 01:55 UT for the Crimean observatories and 01:58 UT for Stanford with a phase uncertainty of plus or minus 15 minutes.

In addition, a new regression line can be found which yields a period of 160.01 minutes or a drift in phase of 31.5 minutes per year in an analysis at exactly 160 minutes.

The continued agreement in phase (and amplitude) between the two observatories for four years, as well as the fact that the period of oscillations determined differs from exactly one-ninth of a day, supports the interpretation that solar oscillations are indeed being observed.

Systematic measurements of the differential Doppler velocity of the Sun have been performed in Crimea from 1974 through 1988 (total 987 days, 6197 hours of observations).

They confirm the presence of a long-term phase-coherent solar pulsation with a period of 160.010 min.

On the other hand, the analysis of new data suggests that solar 160 min pulsation might, in frequency, have a multiplet fine structure. In particular, large changes of amplitude and phase of the pulsation over the years 1982–1986 may indicate that during the last few years we have been observing the solar 160 min oscillation of the ‘second portion’ of the 22 year solar cycle.

It is further noted that the beat period of the two closely spaced frequencies (periods are 160.0101 and 160.0126 min) equals 19.5 ± 1.1 year, which is in good agreement with the average length of the solar magnetic activity cycle, 20–22 years.

Being verified, this unpredicted property of the pulsation can offer a novel possibility for probing the Sun’s interior and perhaps for the study of the internal rotation and 11(22) year cycle of a star.

In 1997 a review of the “orbital frequencies of close binaries” revealed their “resonant” period of 160.0 ± 0.5 minutes coincided with that of the solar pulsation 10.0 ± 0.5 minutes.

Given these rather starting results the “mainstream scientific establishment” [unsurprisingly] appears to be singularly disinterested and has “moved on”.

The presence of a 160 minute cycle in the Sun is not substantiated by contemporary solar observations, and the historical signal is considered by main-stream scientists to occur as the redistribution of power from the diurnal cycle as a result of the observation window and atmospheric extinction.

It was rapidly realised that this frequency corresponded to one-ninth of a day, and therefore the authenticity of this signal was in some doubt.

A re-analysis of data obtained over the period of 1974–1976 by Brookes et al. showed that the evidence for a stable, phase-coherent 160 minute oscillation at a constant amplitude was far from conclusive.

Although claims of the presence of a 160-minute period in the Sun were still presented by Kotov et al. in 1990, and 1991, the mainstream scientific establishment had moved on.

One of the reasons the “the mainstream scientific establishment had moved on” is because Kepler’s Third Law of Planetary Motion provides a formula that can be used to calculate the planetary [rocky] radius of the Sun based upon the assumption that the solar oscillation period of 160 minutes is the solar rotation period that is driving the rotation of the Solar System.

In astronomy, Kepler’s laws of planetary motion are three scientific laws describing the motion of planets around the Sun.

1. The orbit of a planet is an ellipse with the Sun at one of the two foci.

2. A line segment joining a planet and the Sun sweeps out equal areas during equal intervals of time.

3. The square of the orbital period of a planet is proportional to the cube of the semi-major axis of its orbit.

Intriguingly, Kepler’s Third Law suggests that the surface of the rocky Sun lies about 19,585.22 kilometres below the surface of the Photosphere.

The Sun does not have a definite boundary, and in its outer parts its density decreases exponentially with increasing distance from its center.

For the purpose of measurement, however, the Sun’s radius is considered to be the distance from its center to the edge of the photosphere, the apparent visible surface of the Sun.

By this measure, the Sun is a near-perfect sphere with an oblateness estimated at about 9 millionths, which means that its polar diameter differs from its equatorial diameter by only 10 kilometres (6.2 mi).

The visible surface of the Sun, the photosphere, is the layer below which the Sun becomes opaque to visible light.

Above the photosphere visible sunlight is free to propagate into space, and its energy escapes the Sun entirely.

The photosphere is tens to hundreds of kilometers thick, being slightly less opaque than air on Earth

Therefore, the 160 minute solar oscillation period supports Professor O. K. Manuel thesis that the Sun is a pulsar [that rotates slowly].

IV. The Sun is a “Clothed Neutron Star” formed by accreting iron-rich material on the pulsar (spinning neutron star) made at the supernova core.

A pulsar (short for pulsating radio star) is a highly magnetized, rotating neutron star that emits a beam of electromagnetic radiation.

This radiation can only be observed when the beam of emission is pointing toward the Earth, much the way a lighthouse can only be seen when the light is pointed in the direction of an observer, and is responsible for the pulsed appearance of emission.

Hénault-Brunet’s international team used NASA’s Chandra space telescope and the European Space Agency’s XMM-Newton observatory to spot X-rays emitted by SXP 1062.

Most pulsars spin extremely rapidly, with some of them making hundreds of revolutions per second.

But SXP 1062 is spinning just once every 18 minutes or so.

“The most interesting aspect of this pulsar is possibly its extremely long period – 1,062 seconds – which makes it one of the slowest pulsars on record,” said Lidia Oskinova, of Germany’s Institute for Physics and Astronomy, who worked with Hénault-Brunet.

“Slowly spinning pulsars are particularly difficult to detect,” Oskinova added. “Only a few with periods longer than a few thousand seconds have been observed to date.”

Since pulsars slow down as they age, SXP 1062’s sluggish rotation seems to imply an advanced age, in contrast to the supernova remnant that surrounds it.

And Kepler’s Third Law supports Professor O. K. Manuel thesis that the Sun is a “Clothed Neutron Star” formed by accreting iron-rich material on the pulsar.

The sun’s photosphere is often mistakenly referred to as the surface of the sun.

In reality however, the sun’s photosphere is only a “liquid-like” plasma layer made of neon that covers the actual surface of the sun.

That visible layer we see with our eyes is composed of penumbral filaments that are several hundred kilometers deep.

This visible neon plasma layer that we call the photosphere, and a thicker, more dense atmospheric layer composed of silicon plasma, entirely covers the actual rocky, calcium ferrite surface layer of the sun.

The visible photosphere covers the actual surface of the sun, much as the earth’s oceans cover most of the surface of the earth.

In this case the sun’s photosphere is very bright and we cannot see the darker, more rigid surface features below the photosphere without the aid of satellite technology.

The composition and mechanical inner workings of the sun beneath the visible photosphere have remained an enigma for thousands of years.

There are a whole host of unexplained phenomena related to the sun’s activities that still baffle gas model theorists to this day because they fail to recognize the existence of an iron alloy transitional layer that rests beneath the visible photosphere.

Fortunately a host of new satellites and the field of heliosiesmology are starting to shed new light on this mysterious “stratification subsurface” layer of the sun that is located about 4800km beneath the visible photosphere.

In addition, recent studies of solar wind suggest that solar wind also originates on the same transition layer under the photosphere as do the electrically charged coronal loops.

The running difference imaging technique used by both NASA and Lockheed Martin have revealed to us for the first time that the sun is not simply a ball of hydrogen gas; it has a hard and rigid ferrite surface below the visible photosphere that can be seen in all of the images on this page!

A significant corroborating set of data came a decade or so later from the work of Dr. Oliver Manuel. Dr. Manuel confirmed via isotope analysis of lunar soil samples, and the study of meteorites, that the sun is predominantly made of iron and mass separates the plasma in it’s atmosphere.

But any further understanding of pulsars appears to be limited [at this moment in time] by our observational capabilities – this is especially true when the pulsar is cloaked in iron.

The critical reviewer should interpret Wikipedia’s statement that “the mainstream scientific establishment had moved on” to mean that the mainstream scientific establishment is bereft of life and the only reason its still sitting on its perch is because it has been nailed there.

    Thank you for posting this important information. Yes, the core of the Sun is a pulsar, an undeniable fact that was purposely hidden from the public after nations were united on 24 Oct 1945.

    Consensus science “moved on” in 1977 after a Hungarian astronomer Peter Toth published a note in Nature “Is the Sun a pulsar?” because . . .

    Earlier that same year Science published a public debate on the origin of “excess Xe-136” in meteorites:

    _ a.) Superheavy element fission in meteorites, or

    _ b.) Rapid neutron-capture in the supernova that made our elements and birthed the solar system 5 Ga ago

    Proponents of a.) soundly lost the debate and Stalin’s plan to control the world by uniting nations and national academies of sciences into a giant “Orwellian Ministry of Consensus Science (UN)Truths” was about to be exposed.

    Again I appreciate your courage in reporting information that world leaders have hidden from the public for seventy years (1945-2015).

    The pulsar core of the iron Sun offers assurance that humanity will survive the 70-year voyage on a ship of fools guided by incompetent world leaders.

    On wondering I looked at satellite based solar data, hopefully avoiding earth base objections. A definite thing ought to be obvious in most intensity data.

    I am particularly well placed to find things using two unique software tools, both large C based works.

    Assuming I have not made a mistake.

    Take two spectrograms windowed for best frequency discrimination, kaiser-bessel window. Frequency sample assumed fs=0.2 intended to be 5 minutes, chirp window including 160 minutes, all linear.

    The first is spectra as-is.
    The second is highly innovative, software here synchronously locks to entities giving very accurate frequency, phase and amplitude for pure sines. This simulated true Fourier transform is not a discrete transform, is no sampling quantisation. As a side effect this outputs the input less whatever has been found. In this case large lower frequency noise has been avoided by specifying a search window. 1 main 150 180, it locked to the wanted line within a second and then fine tuned.

    There is nothing at 160 minutes. The largest item is at 167.870 ~2.8 hours
    This is extremely accurate on clean data, better 1 ppm but this is noisy data. Cancellation is obviously good.

    Given there are other spikes I’m disinclined to take this as more than noise without a lot more investigation.
