Hillary’s Beat The Clock

One of the problems of Old Age is that some people get ‘stuck’ in the past.

Coping is a very important skill needed in the aging process to move forward with life and not be ‘stuck’ in the past.

The way a person adapts and copes, reflects his aging process on a psycho-social level.

For example, some Old People are still ‘stuck’ with the naive notion that you should never ask a woman about her age.

Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton (born October 26, 1947) is an American politician and the nominee of the Democratic Party for President of the United States in the 2016 election.

Many Old People are also ‘stuck’ with the naive notion that television news is honest and trustworthy.

For decades, a so-called anti-propaganda law prevented the U.S. government’s mammoth broadcasting arm from delivering programming to American audiences.

But on July 2, that came silently to an end with the implementation of a new reform passed in January.

The result: an unleashing of thousands of hours per week of government-funded radio and TV programs for domestic U.S. consumption in a reform initially criticized as a green light for U.S. domestic propaganda efforts.

Similarly, some Old People are still ‘stuck’ with the naive notion that television advertising is an easy, effective and economical way to harvest voters.

Luntz also played a set of soundbites from Clinton and Trump talking about Social Security. (The session was sponsored by AARP.)

The dials went down time after time.

After one Clinton soundbite, Luntz asked why.

“Everything she said there, she’s so full of s—t,” said one man.

Luntz left the room briefly to talk to reporters who were watching the discussion nearby.

“We have now reached the point when even the standard soundbites do not work,” Luntz said.

“All these traditional lines do not work with anybody.”

Furthermore, some Old People are surprisingly ‘stuck’ with the naive notion that television still provides high quality entertainment.

Beat the Clock is a Goodson-Todman game show that aired on American television in several versions from 1950 to 2003.

The original show, hosted by Bud Collyer, ran on CBS from 1950 to 1958 and ran on ABC from 1958 to 1961.

Although Beat the Clock was never a programme in its own right in the United Kingdom, it was hugely popular as a part of ATV’s Sunday Night at the London Palladium on the ITV network from 1955 to 1967, and is still well remembered.

This might explain why some Old People still like playing games on television.

Therefore, as a tribute to those Old People who still like playing games on television, readers are invited to rearrange the following words into a well know phrase or saying.

Readers who have a clue might enjoy Frank Zappa’s 1973 classic I’m the slime [oozin’ out from your TV set].

Either way, enjoy the show.

Following Trump’s earlier tweet, “If dopey Mark Cuban of failed Benefactor fame wants to sit in the front row, perhaps I will put Gennifer Flowers right alongside of him!”; Bill Clinton’s old girlfriend confirmed she will indeed be attending the debates on Monday.

Electing Trump is a blind dart throw with unpredictable results.

But that still feels better than to again see a Clinton in the White House.

Moon of Alabama – 23 September 2016

Perplexed global public opinion holds its breath at the (circus) best American “democracy” is able to conjure.

But one thing seems to be certain in the whole Les Deplorables saga – at least for those Masters of the Universe-connected sources; who the real winner will be.

So let’s give them the last word, for now; “It will be very difficult for Hillary to beat Trump in a debate as he is quick on his feet and will take no prisoners. Let me say this. If Hillary were to win, and we don’t think she will, she will do what she is told and follow the same policies as Trump would.
