In the weird and wacky world of American politics the Obama administration is [amongst other things] expelling 35 Russian diplomats over “election hacking allegations (that as yet have not been supported by any actual evidence)”.

As promised (or threatened), the Obama administration has unveiled – via the US Treasury – new sanctions against Russia over election hacking allegations (that as yet have not been supported by any actual evidence).

Despite president-elect Trump’s comments that “we ought to get on with our lives,” the sanctions apply to five entities and six individuals, and also including the expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats and closing two Russian compounds in New York and Maryland in response to a campaign of harassment against American diplomats in Moscow, a senior U.S. official said on Thursday.

Expels 35 Diplomats, Unveils Sanctions

The 2016 Democratic National Committee email leak is a collection of Democratic National Committee (DNC) emails leaked to and subsequently published by WikiLeaks on July 22, 2016.

This collection included 19,252 emails and 8,034 attachments from the DNC, the governing body of the United States’ Democratic Party.

The leak includes emails from seven key DNC staff members, and date from January 2015 to May 2016.

The leak prompted the resignation of DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz before the Democratic National Convention.

After the convention, DNC CEO Amy Dacey, CFO Brad Marshall, and Communications Director Luis Miranda also resigned in the wake of the controversy.

As the DHS writes, “this document provides technical details regarding the tools and infrastructure used by the Russian civilian and military intelligence Services (RIS) to compromise and exploit networks and endpoints associated with the U.S. election, as well as a range of U.S. Government, political, and private sector entities. The U.S. Government is referring to this malicious cyber activity by RIS as GRIZZLY STEPPE.”

Where things get awkward, however, is at the very start of the report, which prefaced by a broad disclaimer, according to which nothing in the report is to be relied upon and that everything contained in it may be completely false.

No really: “this report is provided “as is” for informational purposes only. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) does not provide any warranties of any kind regarding any information contained within. DHS does not endorse any commercial product or service referenced in this advisory or otherwise.”

The problem is that the alleged “hacking” has all the hallmarks of a “leak”.

The mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of 27-year-old Democratic-staffer Seth Rich (shot multiple times, and not robbed, at 420am near his home in Washington D.C., where no homicides have been reported within 1500 feet) have stirred Wikileaks founder Julian Assange to offer a $20,000 reward for information leading to a conviction.

But it is Assange’s comments during a Dutch TV interview that are most disturbing as he hinted that Rich – who was in charge of DNC voter expansion data – was the email-leaker and his death was a politically-motivated assassination.

Wikileaks’ Assange Hints Murdered DNC Staffer Was Email-Leaker, Offers $20k Reward For Info
Zero Hedge – Tyler Durden – 11 Aug 2016

A Wikileaks envoy today claims he personally received Clinton campaign emails in Washington D.C. after they were leaked by ‘disgusted’ whisteblowers – and not hacked by Russia.

Craig Murray, former British ambassador to Uzbekistan and a close associate of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, told Dailymail.com that he flew to Washington, D.C. for a clandestine hand-off with one of the email sources in September.

The Daily Mail – Alana Goodman – 14 Dec 2016

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange flatly rejected U.S. intelligence claims that his organization received leaked Clinton emails from the Russian government, saying the allegations are part of a ‘foolish’ and ‘dangerous’ effort by Democrats to overturn Donald Trump’s election victory.

The Daily Mail – Alana Goodman – 16 Dec 2016

Sadly, these “hacking allegations” also have all the hallmarks of Fake News.

President Obama has made a desperate attempt to blame Russia for hacking the Democratic National Party (DNC) in an amazing partisan abuse of power.

First of all, the DNC is a PRIVATE organization and NOT party of the government.

Secondly, even if we assumed Russia hacked the DNC, there would be no allegation that they tried to influence the election had the Democrats not been trying to manipulate everything and act in a corrupt manner to begin with.

If the DNC was clean, there would not have been anything to hack.

Why has Obama blamed Russia?

First of all, the big donors to Hillary have privately said they want an audit of where she spent $1.5 billion and they have threatened not to donate to the DNC ever again without that audit. T

his is all a smoke screen to try to placate the big donors – not middle class America, Spanish, or African Americans.

This is the “super-rich” they are trying to distract from any audit by changing the focus to Russia.

I really didn’t think American politics could get this weird and wacky.

    Quelle Surprise!

Russia warned it would respond proportionally to yesterday’s unprecedented sanctions and diplomatic expulsions unveiled by the Obama administration, and this morning it did just that when Russia’s foreign ministry announced plans to expel 35 U.S. diplomats and ban U.S. diplomatic staff from using a dacha and a warehouse in Moscow in retaliation to Washington’s sanctions, Russian news agencies reported.

The Washington Post Actually Takes Russian Government Money
(Unlike the Websites It Helped Slander)
    Liberty Blitzkrieg – Michael Krieger – 17 Feb 2017

Earlier this week, Tucker Carlson interviewed the Washington Post’s Erik Wemple and brought up the fact that the paper regularly receives money from the Russian government to publish propaganda known as “native advertising” within the contents of the newspaper.

China, Russia Pay Washington Post To Publish Their Propaganda
The Daily Caller – Ethan Barton – 29 Oct 2015

Chinese and Russian propaganda supplements are regularly included in The Washington Post, but the widely read newspaper won’t say how much money it gets on the deals.

China Watch – a China Daily publication – and Russia Beyond The Headlines – a Rossiyskaya Gazeta publication – have both appeared in the Post for years as paid advertising supplements. Both foreign periodicals are owned and operated by their respective governments.
