Deranged Dating: Tamarack Pond Revisited

Three weeks ago I began reviewing Dallas Abbott’s “seven discrete layers” from Tamarack Pond that had been dated using the magic carpet technique which is more commonly known as Radiocarbon Dating.

We have found seven discrete layers in a bog core from Cornwall, NY about 80 km away from the Atlantic Ocean… Six out of the seven layers are difficult to explain except through impact processes.

A subsequent reality check indicated that Tamarack Pond Layer A was probably associated with the 1066 AD perihelion of Comet Halley.

A basic [mid-point] reality check of the radiocarbon dating using a linear trend for the Tamarack Pond Core suggests Layer A should be dated to 1066 AD i.e. the very same year Earth experienced a close encounter with Comet Halley.

That was when I still had some residual faith left in the magic carpet dating technique.

Since then evidence has emerged that suggests the mainstream consensus calibration curve contains a long standing virtual reality period between 800 BC and 700 AD [uncalibrated].

Reviewing the Carbon-14 gradients and inflection points currently embedded within the consensus calibration curve [between 800 BCE and 700CE] suggests it may well contain a long established virtual reality period of [about] 1,500 years that is composed of reversed and replicated elements from other parts of the chronology.

Unfortunately, this virtual reality period effectively covers the calibrated dates for Layers C to Layer G in the Tamarack Pond core studied by Dallas Abbott.

So I decided to take another look and noticed a serendipitous coincidence:

The Tamarack Pond layers can be aligned with the Comet Halley perihelions between 607 and 1066 CE.

See: https://malagabay.wordpress.com/2017/03/19/close-encounters-of-the-cometary-kind/

This alignment suggests the opening up of the Atlantic Ocean began [around] 989 CE.

One of the more unexpected objects found by Dallas Abbott in Layer B of the Tamarack Pond [Black Rock Forest, New York] core was a fragment of red coral from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.

However, this [coincidental] correlation is not proof of causation.

Neither is the [coincidental] correlation between the Tamarack Pond and Glen Turret Fan profiles.

But they would help explain why there are so many problems with the mainstream 1st millennium narrative and it’s associated magic carpet dating…

  1. If radiocarbon dating is thus bollocks, how otherwise could one date the sediments/stratigraphy ?

During my undergrad time at Uni NSW during the middle 1960’s the Physics Department viewed we geology students with some condescension, labelling us not as ‘proper’ scientists because we lacked numerical precision in our stratigraphical labours.

Another issue with tree-rings – the Japanese Cedar exists because that part of Japan must not have undergone the catastrophic event as much as Europe when I suspect vast forests were levelled causing a gap of oaks in the catastrophe time frame.

And if the giant redwoods in northern California are some 3000 years old, one wonders what chronology might be interpreted from those tree-rings.

I guess it all depends whether the C14 scientists can actually “grow a pair” and ditch the Settled Science.

Hopefully, someone will be allowed to do a Leona Libby on this giant sequoia.

The well-known giant sequoia, ‘The Pioneer Cabin’, famous for the huge tunnel carved through it, was toppled during California’s weekend storms.

But I’m not holding my breath.

      • I’m toying with the idea that science is actually religion, which might explain much. I used to think religion was the understanding of life, and science its application; I no longer do, however and think science has sort of replaced religion.

Which leads to the aphorism that being right on matters that religion/the state is wrong is dangerous.

  2. Carsten Sønderup says:

In the way that science do guard their premises and the associated outburst do look like religious behavour directed at the heretics… though the interesting thing is that like hardcore socialism it even works within the society like when somebody of the establishment dares thread into other faculties like Heyerdahl.
