Russia will cut its delivery of electricity to Finland starting Saturday, RAO Nordic said Friday, which is a subsidiary of Russian state energy holding Inter RAO. It’s calling the stoppage unprecedented.
“We are forced to suspend the electricity import starting from May 14,” RAO Nordic said, explaining as the reason that it had yet to receive payment for volumes sold in May. “RAO Nordic is not able to make payments for the imported electricity from Russia.”

That was my point about this earlier stuff now.
I hope you don’t mind me mentioning this Scott but Scott has written a book, a real book, of his experience watching the destruction of these SS20s in the then Soviet Union and his experience and what this meant. How the warning time was broadened again. Now what is it? Down to, well if you include Finland, and Scott is right, what is it? About three minutes warning time.
Now what’s Putin going to do?
He’s going to automate his response system.

Well to understand all that you have to understand China’s strategic posturing.
They have something they call the Nine-Dash Line.
Basically it’s an old Chinese map that outlines China’s territorial reach based upon the continental shelf extension off of the Chinese continent into the Pacific.
The Nine-Dash Line takes them well into the South Pacific.
They’ve solidified their position there by building these enhanced man-made islands that they’ve now fortified.
For a long time the position in the United Sates and its allies in the region was to push back, to roll back, the Chinese.
To make the Chinese posture on these islands untenable.
That has failed.
China has completed the fortification of these islands.
One of the many lessons of the Ukraine conflict is that big ships that get too close to shores that contain anti-ship missiles tend to sink.
Even if they’re called Moskva.
And, you know, the fact of the matter is China has stocked these islands with area denial capability.
That eliminates any naval advantage the United States might have had.
So the United States has been looking for a way to contain the new Chinese reality.
And that’s where the Solomon Islands comes in, that’s where the Philippines comes in, because the United States needs the Philippines, needs the Solomon Islands, needs other areas to create this fourth wall around China.
China’s penetrated that.
They penetrated it by negotiating the deal with the Solomon Islands.
That has just blown America’s mind because, you know, the Marine Corps we have this new missile that the army’s building.
This missile called the Dark Eagle hypersonic missile.
Supposed to be deployed – they’ve talked about this summer.
It may be delayed next summer because we can’t build weapons that work.
The idea was that we would fly these missiles into Australia operating in Northern Australia off of unimproved airstrips and then deploy with a C-130 into other unimproved areas like on the Solomon Islands where we could land, cart them off, load them up, fire a bunch of missiles, load them back on, fly away before the Chinese even knew what hit them.
Except the Solomon Islands ain’t playing that game anymore.
They’re on the other side.
All our strategic thinkers are going: Wait, the Chinese just destroyed all the chess pieces we’ve been carving.
The chessboard has changed.

China’s inside our decision-making cycle.
They penetrated it.
They’re flipping around.
We are reacting to them.
And we will never catch up.
And while this is taking place
the biggest game in town is Taiwan.
And I think China has looked at Ukraine
and the big lesson they’ve got from Ukraine is:
When you decide to act, act decisively and win quickly.
The nine-dash line, at various times also referred to as the ten-dash line and the eleven-dash line (by the ROC), are line segments on various maps that accompanied the claims of the People’s Republic of China (PRC, “mainland China”) and the Republic of China (ROC, “Taiwan”) in the South China Sea.
The contested area in the South China Sea includes the Paracel Islands, the Spratly Islands, of which Taiping Island, the largest of the islands, is controlled by the ROC, and various other areas including Pratas Island and the Vereker Banks, the Macclesfield Bank, and the Scarborough Shoal.
Certain places, known as the “Great Wall of Sand”, have undergone land reclamation efforts by various nations that claim the area, including the PRC, ROC, and Vietnam.

The Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) is a surface-to-surface hypersonic missile planned for use by the United States Army.
The United States Navy intends to procure a ship/submarine-launched variant of the missile as part of the service’s Intermediate-Range Conventional Prompt Strike (IRCPS) program.
The weapon consists of a large rocket booster that carries the unpowered Common-Hypersonic Glide Body (C-HGB) in a nose cone.
Once the booster reaches significant altitude and speed, it releases the C-HGB, which glides at hypersonic speeds as it descends towards its target.
Dynetics will build the glide vehicle while Lockheed Martin will build the booster as well as assemble the missile and launch equipment.
The C-HGB has been successfully tested twice, in October 2017 and March 2020.
The missile is planned to enter service with the Army in 2023.
The Navy intends to field the weapon aboard its Zumwalt-class destroyers by 2025 and later on its Block V Virginia-class submarines in 2028; it was intended to also be fielded on guided missile variants of the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarines, but funding delays and the boats’ impending retirement caused those plans to be scrapped.

The United States Army intends to deploy the Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon in an eight missile battery containing four M983 trucks and trailers each holding two missiles in launch canisters alongside a command vehicle.
The LRHW has been named Dark Eagle by the US Army.
